Vasant Panchami heralds spring. As nature thaws, it is time to align & renew ourselves with it's warm & creative energy.
View discussion< Other PostsVasant Panchami heralds the arrival of spring. It recognizes the moment when nature begins to stir and reveals what was held beneath the surface. It’s an ideal time to align body, mind, and purpose with nature’s upward, creative energy. It is celebrated on the 5th waxing lunar day of the Vedic month of Magha.

This auspicious day is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and creativity. We honor her by setting an intention as we seek to answer, “what knowledge wants to move through us this season”, and “what expression has been waiting for spring?”As we step into the threshold of a new season, may we move from inertia to inspiration, from accumulation to activation, and from stillness to expression. Like nature herself, may we gently shed what no longer nourishes us, and rise with clarity and inspiration.
During the colder months, kapha dosha (earth and water) accumulates within us. As warmth returns, this stored heaviness can be consciously released. We clear congestion as we release outdated beliefs and make space for creativity. Here are some Ayurvedic practices for the upcoming season.

Nourish
Favor light and warm food.
Include bitter, pungent, and astringent tastes.
Begin spring cleaning through fasting.

Move
Wake up earlier to counter kapha heaviness.
Increase brisk movement.
It is time to break a sweat.

Meditate
Wear or use yellow (warm and bright color).
Set intentions toward clarity and creativity.
Chant or reflect on Saraswati mantras.
