Vedic wisdom offers valuable insights into mothering or the role of nurturing and caretaking. In Vedic culture, mothering is revered as a sacred duty.
One of the key teachings of Vedic wisdom is the concept of guna', which refers to the three primary qualities or energies that exist in all things: sattva (purity and harmony), rajas (activity and passion), and tamas (inertia and darkness). Our state of mind can influence our nurturing tendencies.
Vedic wisdom also emphasizes the importance of spiritual values in 'mothering'. We are encouraged to instill virtues such as compassion, truthfulness, and discipline; as well as lead by example in our own conduct and behavior.
In addition, Vedic wisdom offers practical guidance on the physical and emotional care of those we are nurturing.
Overall, it emphasizes the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit, toward cultivating 'mothering' qualities.
