According to Ayurveda, there are three aspects of learning and memory: 1) dhi, the power of acquisition or learning; 2) dhriti, the power of retention and processing; and 3) smriti, the ability to recall. Here are some recommendations to help support your brain's ability to learn, retain, and recall.

Nourish: Consume brain foods like walnuts, ghee, olive oil, sweet and juicy fruits, and soaked almonds, sunflower seeds, raisins, and dates. These foods deliver easily-digestible protein and glucose. Other brain foods include farmers cheese or paneer, lentils, beans, and split peas. Include anti-oxidants found in whole grains and vegetables.

Move: Yoga and nature walks increase oxygen supply in each cell of your body. You can also practice breath control or pranayama.

Meditate: In addition to sleep, experience deep rest during stillness.
