Ayurveda and IBS

< Other discussions

During this IBS awareness month, we learn that Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a digestive disorder that affects the large intestine. Symptoms include cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, and constipation. They are worse or more frequent during stressful events. People with IBS may have imbalanced gut bacteria and abnormal serotonin levels. Serotonin is a chemical messenger that is normally associated with brain function, and it also plays a role in the digestive system. IBS can be triggered by caffeine, chocolate, cruciferous vegetables, fried foods, sugar free sweeteners, alcohol, mushrooms, and beans. In this study, the Ayurveda management through a whole system approach was explored and found effective. Please consider Omni's personal well-being plan to learn more about Ayurvedic protocols for IBS.
