Winter and Spring Movement
< Other discussions
While exercise guidelines advocate for 20 minutes of vigorous movement or 30 minutes of moderate movement several times a week, Ayurveda and Yoga suggest a seasonal pattern of movement.
Winter and Spring movement should result in generating heat and vigor. Allow your heart to race and break a sweat!
Customizing your workout regimen to your individual constitution will help tailor a mindful movement practice. Winter and Spring yoga may include more sun salutations than in your typical routine. Longer inversions and backward bends like fish and camel pose go a long way in opening up your chest and making you feel uplifted.
Practice along with this spring yoga video and do not underestimate the power of a brisk walk in nature :-)
What is your movement plan for this season?
