Ayurveda suggests that fasting has great health benefits. Although religious fasting is a time of spiritual growth, it can also be a time of improvement to our health. As we begin to prepare for feasting on Eid, please note that Ramadan involves abstaining from food and drink from dawn to sunset. Some small studies have found Ramadan fasting lowers the levels of cholesterol and boosts the immune system.
